Arrivederci, Roma

Hi, all. Roma passed away yesterday in her own backyard. She lived a long, happy, and adventure-filled life. Thanks to all our friends for the treats and the pats you gave her. She will be greatly missed.

  1. Roma was my model for old-lady behavior and aging in general. We'll miss her very much.

  2. Liz,

Words alone can't express how very sorry I am about dear Roma. Roma was special and will be greatly missed by many. Her persuasive treat-seeking skills always put a smile on my face. I hope you take comfort in knowing that Roma had a wonderful, charmed life in your care. The love you gave her and that she returned was very evident. As I so very often tell Fiona, although beloved Patty (the cat I had when I found Fiona) is no longer with us physically, she will always be with us in our hearts. And so will Roma be in the hearts of the many people and pooches she touched with her grace, playfulness and beauty. Please know that you are in my thoughts. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

  3. We will miss her too, sweet girl.

We made a donation in her name to Austin Pets Alive with the hope that some other dog gets the chance to be adopted and live the same wonderful life that she did.

  4. I'm so very sorry to hear this news.

I always enjoyed seeing Roma at the Park. She was everything I hope to be when I'm officially an old lady - spunky, gentle, regal, funny, with a look that put you right in line when you deserved it.

Thinking of you and Muzzy, and sending my love to Roma's soul in that big DP in the sky.

  5. I was so sad to read this. I always marveled at Roma's memory for treats. I enjoyed looking at her furrowed brow and gentle spirit. Thanks for sharing her with us.
